Tipico’s journey to Stakersland fame has been a true rags to riches story. A garage startup that was initially set up in a distant corner of the park has successfully turned itself into one of the most popular betting carousels for German stakers.

You’ll now see the Tipico merry-go-round in every corner of Stakersland with big crowds forming every day to enjoy the non-stop entertainment. In fact, with a community of 2.9M and the face of Oliver Kahn greeting you upon arrival, it’s no wonder that Tipico is the number one betting choice for Germans, although you still might see an Austrian or two as you stand in line to place your bets. All the main sports available here are linked to the betting habits of their loyal stakers, so the big one is football with the Bundesliga taking huge volumes of wagering, as well as basketball, tennis, volleyball, handball, and ice hockey. To be honest, the Tipico team have little interest in foreign tournaments unless, of course, their own national team is involved. It’s Germany all the way here and this country is also becoming quite a hotbed for esports as well, so there was no surprise to see the likes of FIFA, Counter Strike, League of Legends, Dota, and Call of Duty all enjoying several betting markets on the latest competitions and leagues.

The limits at Tipico are straightforward and this shows that Tipico are resolute in supplying a staker-friendly service. The general limit on withdrawals is set to £100,000 per staker per week, but it does state that other limits on winnings may apply. Additionally, keeping with the same limit, all winnings per betting slip is also capped at £100,000 but again other limits on winnings may apply. On the front of these limits, the value to stakers does look enticing but those extra limits that are missing the all-important explanations could prove otherwise. Taking those £100,000 limits into account, our number guys have calculated that it would take Tipico only 45 minutes to balance the books, and around three hours if you got lucky and hit four winning bets of £100,000 each. Considering the financial numbers at Tipico, we would suggest that all the funds would be available to payout as soon as you hit those upper limits.

TIPICO’S 2.9M GERMAN STAKERS ARE SPENDING AN IMPRESSIVE £55-65 PER MONTH WHICH HAS GIVEN THIS BOOKMAKER THE CHANCE TO HIT THAT £1.1B ANNUAL GROSS GAMING REVENUE MARKER. A STAKER-FRIENDLY BETTING SERVICE IS TOPPED OFF WITH LIMITS WORTH UP TO £100,000 A WEEK.

The Tipico founders come from a range of backgrounds with lawyers, a business manager, and a software developer all involved, so business is truly at its core. It’s most likely the reason why they manage to enjoy a gross monthly profit per player of £55-65 (well above the industry average), and an overall total of £99 Million per month going to new owners, CVC Holdings. That impressive monthly balance allowed Tipico to hit the magical billion mark for their annual gross gaming revenues with £1.1B in 2019. According to 2018 reports, it was calculated that they yielded at a rate of 15% which left them with an overall £162 million in profits. All in all, these are healthy figures for Stakersland but finding a competitor to compare them with presents a problem, so we’ve decided to look at two foreign rivals with a considerable German-speaking audience, Bwin and Bet365. Bwin got up and running a full decade before Tipico but they still don’t meet their balance books, even though they do enjoy a 844,000 German-speaking community of stakers. The £44 million a month and £550 million in annual gross gaming revenue doesn’t quite reach the level of Tipico. Bet365, on the other hand, is a Stakersland icon and we all know how big they are. There are some 635,000 German-speaking stakers found within their colossal 13 million community, from which they currently earn around £380 million gross gaming revenue. Not too bad considering their total £3.35 billion annual revenue total. Either way you look at it, Tipico rules the park when it comes to giving the German stakers what they want.
